Honey Bacon Sprouts

I am a big fan of all things British. They have such amazing ways to prepare sprouts during the holidays. I love sprouts and they are so good for you. This recipe is one that my sister Maria made one year for Thanksgiving and we all loved it.

1-2 pounds brussel sprouts, shredded

olive oil

cooked and chopped bacon

¼ cup honey

crushed red pepper flakes

2 TBS melted butter

4 oz goat cheese

fresh orange zest

  1. Position your pan at the bottom part of your oven. Preheat to 425 degrees.

  2. On baking sheet, toss the sprouts, oil and some S & P. Roast fro about 15-20 minutes until they start to crisp. I open the oven every now and then to stir them around.

  3. In a saucepan, put the honey, butter and pepper flakes. Bring to a boil for 30 seconds. Add the zest or even a little orange juice.

  4. Drizzle the liquid over the sprouts and then throw on some goat cheese and the cooked, crisp bacon.
