Acorn Squash

I have made acorn squash in so many ways. This was the way my mom made it when I was a child and the way my kids like it best. I make sure to measure out the maple syrup or my kids will use half the bottle.

1 acorn squash for each member of the family

maple syrup

cinnamon

salt

butter

water

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  • Get out your trusty 9x11 Pyrex dish. You may need more than one if you have a large family. Pour 1 inch of water into dish.

  • Cut your acorn squash in half from stem to belly button.

  • Place them cut side down into water. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Keep an eye on water levels. They should be soft when you poke them.
